Hi, I'm Connie, the CEO of Lokktology Dreads.

As a child of the '70s, I’ve always felt like I marched to the beat of my own drum. Creativity and art are at the very core of who I am.

22 years ago, I took my first crack at dreads, but let’s just say it was a less-than-ideal attempt—wax-filled, backcombed, messy blobs of matted hair! When I found out I was pregnant, those dreaded locks had to go. Trust me, they were not pretty. The '90s weren’t exactly kind to the dreadlock journey!

Fast forward to today, at 50, and I finally rock the natural, beautiful dreads I’ve always dreamed of—crafted with nothing but love and crochet technique.

I’ve been creating and caring for locks privately and professionally for over 10 years. During this time, I immersed myself in the world of dreaducation through certificate courses and the generosity of Australian dreadlock artists who shared their wisdom and support. This helped me evolve into a career loctician and develop my own unique style and creative edge.

I’m incredibly passionate about helping my clients navigate their own dread journey. My goal is to provide exceptional service and build meaningful, lasting connections with everyone who trusts me to care for their beautiful locks.

In 2023, I opened The Lokk Shop: Lokktology Dreads, a full-service salon in the heart of Central Victoria. In 2024, I’ll be expanding my availability and working toward offering a full-time salon experience here in Bendigo, VIC.

Alongside being a loctician, I’m also a visual artist, a mother, a practicing yogi within the Satyananda tradition, and yes—a postie bike pirate!
